LOUISE JESSE ‘SIS’ BOYD WEBSTER
Louise Jesse “Sis” Boyd-Webster
passed away on February 6, 2005 at Northeast Montana Health Services in Poplar.
Louise was born December 4, 1949 at the Poplar Community Hospital to Virginia
Adams and James (Feather) Mazakahomni. She was raised by her adopted father
James W. Boyd from the age of 3 years old. James loved Louise like his own
daughter and raised her this way. Louise attended Brockton High School and
graduated in 1967 as Valedictorian. Louise was a high school cheerleader all
four years and followed the 1966-67 Brockton Warriors basketball team to the
state tournament. She then went on to attend Montana State University in Bozeman
and Carroll College in Helena to study in nursing. Louise also attended Fort
Peck Community College in 1995. Following college, Louise went to San Diego, CA
for a year. Upon returning to the Fort Peck Reservation, she worked at the
Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point as a nurse’s aide for many years. Louise worked
at the Bureau of Indian in the Social Services Department. She then worked a few
years at A & S Tribal Industries. Louise loved gardening, fishing, reading
books, knitting, watching TV, spending time with her friends and family, and
baking, which she was well known for her pies, cookies and banana bread. Louise
was preceded in death by her father and adopted father, her son Michael James,
maternal grandparents Matthew and Jesse DeMarrias, paternal grandparents George
and Nellie Boyd. Louise is survived by her husband Wayne Webster of 12 years,
her mother Virginia Adams, both of Brockton; two sons, Allen Youpee Jr. of Wolf
Point, Dale J. Bear of Poplar, five brothers; Kermit (Helen), Samuel (Nora),
William (Doris) Boyd, David (Anna) Adams, all of Brockton, and Eugene (Leah)
Boyd of Marysville, Washington, and two sisters, Margaret Boyd of Brockton and
Patrice (Anthony) Iron Bear of Poplar. She is also survived by five
grandchildren, Eileen Lambert, Avery, Allery, Armon, and Ariana Gabrielle, all
of Brockton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Her adopted family
consisted of Alvis Bird and Betty Iron Ring, her adopted mothers; Myron and Ivan
Broken Leg, her adopted sons, her adopted brother James Chaser, Sr.; adopted
sisters Roberta Bird and Myrna Boyd, and her adopted daughter Grace Deveruex.
Louise was loved very much by all her family and friends; all will miss her. A
viewing was Friday, February 11, 2005 at the Brockton Cultural Center at 3 p.m.
with prayer services at 7 p.m.; Funeral services were on Saturday, February 12,
2005 at 10 a.m. at the Brockton Cultural Center with Rev. Enright Bighorn and
Rev. Tim Hutsler officiating. Interment will be at the Riverview Cemetery in
Brockton.
