ISABELLE ‘CISSY’ LEVAY
On
February 19, 2005 God shined down his magnificent light and lit the path to
heaven for Cissy LeVay where she was once again reunited with family and friends
who have come full circle into God’s kingdom. Mrs. Isabelle “Cissy” LeVay was
born on November 19, 1920 in Poplar to George and Julia Christian. She attended
schools in Brockton and Poplar, MT. Cissy married the love of her life, Pete
LeVay on December 3, 1938. Eventually they made their home in Poplar and
together they raised three children. She enjoyed life, her family and friends.
One of her hobbies was fishing and being outdoors. In her early years, she was
president of the Indian Women’s Home Demonstration Club. During World War II she
was a certified welder in Tacoma, WA. For her love of children, she became a
Headstart teacher and also a teacher’s aide at the Poplar School. For many years
she was a member of the Catholic ladies alter society. She was preceded in death
by her parents, two sisters, five brothers, and an eldest son Frank. She is
survived by her husband of 66 years Pete, her son Don (Bonnie) LeVay, one
daughter Debbie (Gerald) Johnson, a brother Phil (Olive) Magnan, and one of her
best friends and daughter Mavis (Wayne) Failing. She had five grandchildren Ira
(Karla) Ricker, Traci LeVay, Chuck (Kim) Johnson, Jeri Ann (Chad) Smith, and
eight great grandchildren, and her dearly loved nieces and nephews. Cissy chose
the following individuals whom she dearly loved for her extended family: Zelma
Mason, Maureen Greyhawk, Lonnie Iron Bear, Steve Greyhawk Sr., and Mathew Loves
Him. Our wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend will be greatly
missed. We know our Savior Jesus Christ holds her gently in his arms. Through
her life, faith, love and trust in God her journey is now complete. All our LOVE
FOREVER. Rosary was on Tuesday, February 22 at 7 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes
Catholic Church in Poplar. Funeral services were on Wednesday, February 23 at 10
am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Michael Schneider
officiating. Interment was in Poplar City Cemetery.
