Alma Jean Renz
Alma Jean Renz, 65, left this
world to be with our Lord in heaven on January 1, 2005.She died due to
complications following surgery. She was born March 14, 1939 in Poplar to Wilbur
and Lucille Gibbs Renz. Alma Jean graduated from Flandreau Indian School and
went on to United Tribes Technical Center in Bismarck, ND. She finished her
education at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, MT graduating with a bachelor’s
degree in nursing. Alma Jean worked her whole life in the Poplar area at the
Poplar Community Hospital, Spotted Bull Treatment Center and Juvenile Detention
Center. Alma Jean’s hobbies included playing bingo, beading, reading a good book
and visiting. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter LuAnn, two
brothers, Richard Gibbs and Harold Renz Sr., and one sister Maxine Vantine. Alma
Jean is survived by her seven children, Don (Pauline) Jackson, Leslie Jackson,
of Poplar, Ramona (Jerome) Jackson of Havre, Roberta Jackson of Poplar, JoAnn
(Mike) Todd of Missoula, David (Shannon) Kirn, and Danielle (Noel) Crowe, of
Poplar. Also surviving Alma Jean are her two sisters, Roberta Garfield and Nancy
Samulson Foote, both of Poplar. Alma Jean has many grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews surviving her. Visitation was on Tuesday,
January 4, 2005 for close family and friends from 6 to 9 pm at Clayton Stevenson
Memorial Chapel in Poplar. Funeral services were on Wednesday, January 5 at 10
am at the Poplar Activity Center with interment in the Box Elder Cemetery west
of Poplar. Condolences may be sent to the family at csmc@nemontel.net Clayton
