Allen Lee
Follows The Road passed away January 25, 2005 in Poplar, Mt. He was born March
12, 1956 in Fort Yates, ND to Clarence & Sylvia Follows The Road. Allen enjoyed
basketball games especially watching the Brockton Warriors take state, he
enjoyed rodeos, and bullriding. He was a BIA police officer in Pine Ridge SD,
Fort Yates ND, Nebraska and Oklahoma. He was a Captain security officer and
Director at United Tribes and tribal police officer in Poplar. He was currently
employed at the Youth Detention Center. Allen is survived by his wife, Carolyn
Lorraine Follows The Road of North Poplar, daughters Dodie Keepness of Fort
Qupelle, Saskatchewan Canada, Michelle, Joelle, Sylvia and Danielle Follows The
Road of Fort Yates, ND and adopted daughters, Angela, Seneca, Jerolyn of Fort
Yates and Allison Keeler of Fort Kipp, Jewel Payne of Wolf Point, Heather
Martell and Jeanna Haumpy of Poplar. He is also survived by his father Clarence
Follows The Road, two brothers Thomas Necklace and Elvis Eagle, all of Poplar,
adopted sister Alice Long Hair of Ft. Kipp, half-sister Maria of Ft. Yates,
uncles Adrian (Peggy) Ireland, Peter and Oscar Follows The Road, Alfred Blue
Earth of Ft. Yates, Courtney Follows the Road of Dickinson, ND, Sam Ireland, Jr.
of Cannonball, Gabe Plante of Poplar, aunts Bernice and Bonnie Laundraux, Sally
Yellow Eyes, Wanda Miner of Cannonball, Mae Allison of Chicago, Vicki Azure and
Rena Azure, Nellie Silk and Barbara and Verdell Birdsbill, all of Wolf Point,
Gloria Chopper, Louise Ell, Lorraine Stormy, and Pearl Hopkins, all of Poplar,
nieces Dorris, Sylvia and Chris Buck Elk, cousins Lucille Joy Reddig of Lustre
and Karri Libby of New Town, ND and Charles Silk of Wolf Point and Janice Silk
of UT. Other survivors include adopted families: American Horses of Fort Yates,
adopted brother Abe Chopper, Vernon Chopper and Violet & Henry Buck Elk,
Priscella Carpenter and Aletha Chopper. He was preceded in death by mother
Sylvia Yellow Eyes maternal grandparents James Yellow Eyes and Sadie Antelope,
nephew Emanuel Buck Elk, adopted mother, Mae Necklace Dust, sisters Arlene
Follows The Road Buck Elk, Lenore Necklace and Joyce Follows The Road.
Visitation will be held Friday January 28 with a wake at 3 pm and a prayer
service at 7 pm at the James Black Dog Center in Fort Kipp. Funeral services
will be held Saturday, January 29 at 10 am at the James Black Dog Center in Fort
Kipp. Interment will take place at Fort Kipp Cemetery.
